why trust me?
Did you know that in a 2023 Harvard study regarding the comprehension of food labels, it was found that 29-47% (!!!) of people opted for a less-healthy food product, based on the food marketing terms that were used on food packaging?
Are you alarmed at that number? I am!
But it's also totally relatable, right? We've all been there. Prior to my nutrition education, I was also picking foods off the shelf that I was fooled into thinking were healthy for me.
Many years into my career, studying clinical research, reviews, and regulations regarding ingredients and components of cookware, I've learned a lot, and yet much more research is still needed.
I've also been able to see the positive health effects of the information in this course in my own clients. By teaching them to choose cleaner foods and understand the health impacts of modern processed foods, I've seen pain levels reduced, weight lost, periods restored, and improved sleep for many of my clients!
I've been formally educated as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP), and have completed my Board Certification in Holistic Nutrition (BCHN) from the NANP (National Association for Nutrition Professionals), and my credentials remain in good standing.
Prior to my formal nutrition training, I worked for nearly 20 years in the field of physical medicine, where I was trained to counsel patients in anti-inflammatory dietary changes to support their progress through intensive treatment programs. Part of that process is helping patients gain an understanding of food labels so they can make food choices that are less toxic and more sustainably sourced.
Upon completing my NTP certificate, this course was the first thing I developed (initially known as the Kitchen Detox Workshop) as a tool to support my 1:1 clients as we worked to address their symptoms.
I've thoroughly researched the information I provide in the CTC, and continue to update the content, if necessary, as new research emerges.
I’m here to support you.
