functional lab testing options
Lab testing is essential to finding underlying hidden causes of your perimenopause symptoms, inflammation, PMOS (formerly PCOS), and IBS symptoms.
Having a practitioner who is trained to help you get the most accurate results and to know what to do with the results is equally important.
I’ve listed the most common tests I use with clients below.
why test with me?
Lab results are not the only thing that matters when it comes to addressing your health. The practitioner’s skillset is equally important.
You want a practitioner who…
is trained to seek out the root causes of your symptoms, not just chase numbers on a lab
can offer specialized guidance to get you the most accurate results
will walk you through the results
will provide personalized recommendations to help you move forward
honors your investment the same as they would for themselves
lab pricing
I do not list lab prices, and here’s why:
You pay what I pay. Testing prices are set by the lab performing the test, and those prices can change without me knowing.
During your consultation, I will be able to provide a good-faith estimate, so there are no surprises on your invoice.
Here’s what’s included when you purchase lab testing from me:
my cost for the lab, including shipping, requisition, and transaction fees (varies by lab) - I do not mark up lab testing for profit.
a separate lab interpretation fee, which includes:
my analysis of the results
a 30-minute private video call to review your results and explore care options
a detailed report of our discussion, including personalized recommendations to help you resolve symptoms that may be associated with your lab results
gut microbiome test kit
-
A comprehensive, at-home stool test for gut health, this lab is used to find imbalances in the microbiome, dysbiotic and inflammatory bacteria, severe candida overgrowth, viruses, and parasites.
It also tests for inflammatory and digestive markers to help us understand how your symptoms might be showing up.
COMMON SYMPTOMS THAT MAY BENEFIT FROM TESTING:
chronic diarrhea and/or constipation
anxiety or other mood symptoms
sleep issues
skin rashes, eczema, or acne
abnormal thyroid levels
bloat
chronic stuffiness or congestion
food sensitivities, especially grains and dairy
craving carbs/excess appetite
test for candida overgrowth
-
A comprehensive, at-home urine test for candida overgrowth, clostridia, nutrient deficiencies, metabolic health, detoxification, and mold exposure.
COMMON SYMPTOMS THAT MAY BENEFIT FROM TESTING:
chronic constipation
anxiety or other mood symptoms
sleep issues
skin rashes or redness
autoimmune disease
abnormal thyroid levels
brain fog
chronic fungal or yeast infections
fatigue
chronic inflammation, including IBS symptoms
headaches or blurred vision
test for mold toxicity
-
There’s mold exposure, then there’s mold toxicity.
When mold is threatened, it produces toxins known as mycotoxins, which require a different treatment approach than mold exposure.
This at-home urine kit tests for eleven different mycotoxins produced by molds commonly found around the home, car, or workspace.
COMMON SYMPTOMS THAT MAY BENEFIT FROM TESTING:
hormone imbalances
electric shock sensations
ringing in ears
anxiety or depression
digestive issues
low blood pressure
dizziness when standing
test for stress hormones
-
A one-time blood draw for cortisol is not enough to understand how your body navigates stress.
This at-home dried urine kit measures cortisol levels throughout the day, cortisol metabolites and elimination patterns, and gives a more clear picture of specific support needs.
COMMON SYMPTOMS THAT MAY BENEFIT FROM TESTING:
hormone imbalances
sleep issues, insomnia
waking at 2:00am to pee
catching a second wind in the evening
PCOS symptoms
“hangry” when meals are delayed
rely on caffeine or sugar to “get going”
food sensitivities test
-
One of my favorite tests to recommend for clients with chronic inflammation, autoimmune conditions, and pain symptoms.
This at-home dried blood kit is offered at three price points, depending on which foods you consume most.
additional types of testing
The tests listed above are the most common for the conditions I specialize in. However, additional types of testing can be provided if needed.
For lab testing only, book a 30-minute video consultation to determine which testing best suits your needs.
If you’re ready to dig deep and get the full picture, my 1:1 support program is a better option, which includes functional lab testing.
